In Parliament, there is something called a “recess adjournment debate” where Members of Parliament can speak on any local or national subject they wish. Tracey, inspired by recent conversations she had with her constituents, decided for the “conference recess” debates to pick up on comments that had been made recently implying that the cruel and inhumane badger cull was not going to end by 2025 as planned. Many of Tracey’s constituents in Chatham and Aylesford constituents care passionately about wildlife and animal welfare so while it is a pleasure for Tracey to raise their concerns in the House it is always a shame that she still must on this issue, 10 years after the cull started.

For those who may be confused by the opening sentences, Tracey’s speech followed the Labour MP Siobhian McDonagh who spoke passionately about her sister Margaret's death from Glioblastoma. Tracey knows over the years constituents have lost loved ones to brain tumours and Siobhian made a passionate and reasonable case as to why we need a plan to improve treatment in this seemingly forgotten area of cancer.
